Joey Sommerville
Trumpeter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Joey Sommerville aka “Papa J”, has performed at major venues and festivals worldwide, including The Capital Jazz Festival, Nashville’s Music City Jazz and Blues Festival, The Seabreeze Jazz Festival, The BB Jazz Fest, Jazz Fest West, Discover Jazz Festival(Burlington Vermont), The Atlanta Jazz Festival, Majorca Smooth Jazz Festival (Spain), The Preserve Jazz Festival, Jazz Summer Festival (Nassau, Bahamas), The Uptown Market Festival (Bermuda), The Smooth Jazz Festival Augsburg (Germany), The Blue Note NYC, The Berks Jazz Festival, The Keystone Jazz Festival and numerous other venues throughout the U.S. and abroad.
He currently resides in Spain, which serves as the launching point for his new Papa J Sez project, featuring all-new compositions and reimagined blues classics.
Rodney Edge
Rodney M. Edge, Sr. is a Gold-certified songwriter, visionary producer, and the driving force behind Edgemuzik’s evolution into a powerhouse of cultural excellence. As CEO, he fuses decades of experience across gospel, R&B, jazz, and country with sharp executive insight, built on an MBA and a legacy of touring with icons like Anita Baker, India Arie, and After 7. He is a voting member of The Recording Academy® (Grammys) and co-writer of the chart-topping hit “It’s Working” by Bishop William Murphy. Rodney works toward a creative mission to turn moments into movements—and music into lasting impact. Through his latest venture, EdgemuzikU, Rodney has created a go-to platform empowering musicians, artists, and instructors by bridging the gap between music education and modern tech-driven performances.
Dr. Jose Valentino Ruiz
Dr. José Valentino Ruiz is a tenured Associate Professor and Director of the Music Business & Entrepreneurship program at the University of Florida. He also serves as the U.S. Department of State’s first-ever U.S. Speaker of Creative Economy and Global Arts & Entrepreneurship, representing the United States in global initiatives that advance cultural diplomacy through music, education, and entrepreneurship.
Recognized as one of the world’s most formidable multi-instrumentalists—performing masterfully on flute, saxophone, bass guitar, percussion, and keyboard—Dr. Ruiz is a four-time Latin GRAMMY® Award-winning artist, producer, and composer, with four additional nominations in categories including Best Contemporary Classical Composition, Best Children’s Album, Best Latin Jazz Album, and Best Instrumental Album of the Year. He is also an EMMY® Award-winning composer and producer for film and broadcast media.
